Lane Greene  

Business correspondent for The Economist

Lane Greene is a business correspondent for The Economist, covering professional services, and the chief blogger for “Johnson,” The Economist’s blog on language. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Slate, The New Republic, The Daily Beast and others, and he is the author of You Are What You Speak, on the politics of language. He is a frequent television and radio commentator on international affairs, an analyst for Freedom House, and an adjunct assistant professor in the Center for Global Affairs at New York University. Greene joined The Economist online as Countries Editor in September 2000. He oversaw the development of the Country Briefings section of the website and edited it until April 2004, when he began writing about American politics and foreign policy for The Economist online.
