Lane Turner grew up in the west Texas town of Levelland. An area rich with music, culture, and hard working people.
The son of a Justice of the Peace and Nursing Home Administrator, Lane learned the value of hard work, responsibility, patience, and caring for others.
He recieved a guitar for Christmas when he was 11 which ignited his love of music.
Years of football, baseball, basketball, and soccer fed his love of all sports, but it was track and field, a sport he didn't compete in till college, in which he excelled.
At Texas Tech University, where he studied Biology, with plans of teaching and coaching, Lane excelled in the Decathlon and Pole Vault, being named All-American in the Decathlon.
Lane was tapped to compete in the Olympic Festival that year as well.
Because of his success Lane continued competing and training for the upcoming 1992 Olympics. Unfortunately Injuries during the 1992 season put an end to that dream. But ironically it was track and field that fed the fire of another dream, music.
It was with his track teammates that Lane started a band, Diamondback, and what began simply for fun, grew to be a very lucrative and successful business. With success of his band , and the encouragement of mentors, Lane made the jump to Nashville.
Where after years of touring the US and Canada Lane was signed to a publishing deal as a staff writer and a recording contract with Warner Brothers Records.
During his time in Nashville, before his record deal, Lane worked as an electrician. utilizing the work ethic his parents instilled in him. "I've always loved working with my hands, building, fixing things...there is something extremely satisfying about seeing a task to completion, wiring a house, turning the lights on...a beautiful compliment to the artistic side of my life" Lane is a strong family man raising his son, Sam, with his wife Paula, a successful small business owner in her own right.
Balancing home and work, Lane continues to tour around the country in support of his music, as well as hosting a hunting show for GAC. In 2010 Lane was asked to perform on Broadway and be the Frontman for "Western Underground", the touring band of one of his heroes, Chris LeDoux. who was a legendary music force in the Cowboy, Rodeo, Western living culture through the 80's and 90's.
