Lara Schmoisman

Digital Weaver, Forbes NEXT1000 Honoree, Marketing & Branding Strategist

Lara Schmoisman is the CEO & founder of The Darl, a powerhouse business & marketing strategist and recently named one FORBES Next 1000 and LA Times Inspirational Women.

By her early teens, she was bursting through the doors of her first job in the entertainment industry, learning the skill sets that would ultimately launch her into her true passion––empowering entrepreneurs. With more than 20 years of experience working across radio, television, film, and content marketing, she learned how to understand what people need, how they need it delivered, and how to automate systems to provide the best results.

Schmoisman felt fated to create her own agency and founded The Darl, in 2019. Schmoisman designed an environment she calls an “ecosystem,” where everything is balanced by teamwork, kindness, creativity, collaboration, and authenticity while staying true to the brand’s unique story. The Darl is growing quickly because of this focus on excellence and authenticity.
Determined to continuously evolve, Schmoisman ultimately realized that so many people out there were trying to pivot to the digital field but were not in a position to hire an agency. She did some soul-searching and came up with three programs using all the proven strategies, methods, and tools that she uses every day with her own clients at The Darl.

Through these programs, Schmoisman empowers entrepreneurs, personal brands, and those seeking to build an in-house marketing department, helping them become profitable, innovative, and sustainable by providing accessible marketing resources and learning platforms to otherwise underserved Latinx communities. Schmoisman’s “How to Design Your Business to Stand Out from the Crowd in the Digital World” online training is intentionally designed to fit each client's specific and unique needs. By committing to clarity, strategy, and action, Schmoisman’s clients are able to open their eyes to the big picture and stop missing opportunities.

Lost in Translation

Whether you are starting a new business, moving to a new country, or anything in between: Accept it! Many things will get lost in translation. During this talk, you’ll laugh through Lara’s journey as an immigrant and a new entrepreneur, and you’ll come out on the other side with a bunch of new knowledge about how to prevail in any new unknown territory.

Expect the Unexpected

Good thing I didn’t have a “life plan” because nothing in my life happened as planned. Maybe it is my background in production, but I learned to have various plans, and I’m always ready to improvise in case nothing works. Let me share with you a trick or two about juggling many balls as I took my life (unexpectedly) by the horns.
