Black Maternal Health Advocate, Doula, Founder of Mama Glow; Visiting Professor of Gender & Sexuality Studies at Brown University

Latham Thomas is a renowned maternity lifestyle expert, wellness leader, and master birth doula dedicated to transforming the wellness movement. Her journey began in 2003 after giving birth to her son, which inspired her to help women reclaim birth.

As the founder of Mama Glow, a global maternal health and education platform, Thomas supports families throughout the fertility period, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, offering bespoke doula services and collaborating with healthcare systems and insurance companies to enhance maternal health outcomes. Recognized as one of Oprah Winfrey's Super Soul 100, Thomas has served as a doula for clients including Alicia Keys, Anne Hathaway, Ashley Graham, DJ Khaled, Rebecca Minkoff, Tamera Mowry, and more. She has authored two bestselling books: “Mama Glow: A Hip Guide to a Fabulous and Abundant Pregnancy” and “Own Your Glow: A Soulful Guide to Luminous Living and Crowning the Queen Within” and released the meditation audio program, "Beditations: Guided Meditations and Rituals for Rest and Renewal." She created the Mama Glow Doula Homeschool Professional Training program and in 2021, launched the inaugural Doula Expo, a groundbreaking festival for birth workers and caregivers, known as 'Coachella for Birth workers.' This event centers on education, networking, business development, and economic empowerment.

A graduate of Columbia University and The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Thomas serves on the Tufts University Nutrition Council and is a member of the Well + Good Council where she shares her expertise in women's wellness, pregnancy, and self-care. She also teaches at universities and teaching hospitals nationwide, focusing on improving patient labor and delivery experiences.

Additionally, Thomas is a co-founder of the Mama Glow Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to advancing reproductive justice and birth equity through education, advocacy, and the arts. Appointed Visiting Professor of the Practice of Gender Studies at Brown University's Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women, she has embedded the Mama Glow Doula Training program as a course at Brown.

In addition to her work with Mama Glow, Latham serves on the Kate Spade New York Social Impact Council, helping to increase access to mental health support for women and girls.
