Best known for her role as Leonardo DiCaprio’s sister in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, Laura has acted in over 60 films and TV shows including Kill Bill, Now You See Me, True Detective, Friends and recurring roles on Treme and Ava Duverney’s Queen Sugar.
She's appeared in more than 60 commercials, wrote and directed an award-winning short film starring Joanna Cassidy and Danica McKellar, and another short piece starring Richard Dreyfuss and Mircea Monroe, and produced and starred in Quentin Tarantino presents: Hell Ride, a biker movie starring Dennis Hopper, Michael Madsen and David Carradine.
Laura has authored seven books including Know Small Parts: An Actor's Guide to Turning Minutes into Moments and Moments into a Career with foreword by Richard Dreyfuss and endorsements from Kevin Costner, Lou Diamond Phillips, Reginald Hudlin and more.
Cayouette earned her Master's Degree in creative writing and English literature at the University of South Alabama where she was presented the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award. She’s taught acting/directing at various universities including a graduate-level class she designed for teaching directors how to collaborate with actors. Laura has also guest taught or spoken at her alma mater, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York as well as the L.A. campus, the New York Film Academy, the L.A. Film school, London’s Brian Timoney Actors’ Studio, L.S.U., Loyola and the Saints/Pelicans media group.
Laura was recently elected as her union’s local delegate where she has initiated changes to the national website and app benefitting those affected by at-work assault and other #metoo issues. She also serves as the local’s Chairperson of the Women’s Committee.
