Organizational Psychologist, Consultant & Professor of Practice at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business

Dr. Laura Morgan Roberts is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, based in Rosslyn. Specializing in the science of maximizing human potential in diverse organizations and communities, her academic area is Leadership and Organizational Behavior. She has published over fifty research articles, teaching cases, and practitioner-oriented tools for strategically activating best selves through strength-based development and has edited three books: "Race, Work and Leadership," "Positive Organizing in a Global Society," and "Exploring Positive Identities and Organizations." Her influential publications on diversity, authenticity, and leadership development have made headlines in the Harvard Business Review and several other global media outlets.

With over twenty years of experience, Laura has made significant contributions to the field of leadership and organizational behavior. Beyond her academic contributions, she is a consultant for leaders seeking extraordinary performance and personal fulfillment, and her work has been featured in media outlets like U.S. News and World Report and Harvard Business School Working Knowledge. She has appeared on the Ted "#WorkLife" podcast with Adam Grant and the "Making Positive Psychology Work" podcast with Michelle McQuaid. In addition to her academic and consulting work, Laura also composes lyrical expressions related to diversity, identity, and relationships.

Dr. Roberts earned a BA in Psychology (highest distinction & Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Virginia, and an MA and Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan. She has served on the faculties of Harvard Business School, Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, and Antioch University’s Graduate School of Leadership and Change. She has also taught courses in organizational behavior, psychology, negotiations, group dynamics, diversity, leadership, and career development at various universities, including the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, Harvard Business School, and Georgetown University.
