Lauren Lapkus is an actress and comedian best known for her role as corrections officer Susan Fischer on Netflix's "Orange is the New Black," which won her a SAG award. She currently stars opposite David Spade in the new Netflix original movie, "The Wrong Missy." She stars in "The Unicorn," which premiered at SXSW in 2018 and "Between Two Ferns: The Movie" opposite Zach Galifianakis.
In 2017 she was nominated for an Emmy for her role of Samantha Newman on Funny Or Die's "The Earliest Show." Lauren had a scene-stealing role in the blockbuster "Jurassic World" and created and starred in her own episode of the sketch comedy series, "The Characters," for Netflix.
Lauren recurred on season 3 of NBC's "Good Girls." She also recurred on all three seasons of HBO's "Crashing," starring Pete Holmes and produced by Judd Apatow, as well as the final two seasons of CBS' "The Big Bang Theory." Lauren was also one of Variety's 10 Comics To Watch in 2016.
Lauren's improv podcast, With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus, debuted at #1 on the comedy section of iTunes and TIME Magazine listed it as one of the top podcasts of 2018. She and Nicole Byer co-host the podcast, Newcomers, where they watch Star Wars for the first time. She also hosts the podcast Threedom with Scott Aukerman and Paul F. Tompkins and she previously co-hosted the popular 90s nostalgia podcast, Raised By TV, with Jon Gabrus. She toured throughout the United States and Australia as part of the Comedy Bang! Bang! live tour in 2016 and continues to tour with the show regularly.
In 2020, Lauren became the fifth celebrity to ever win $500,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. She played for the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America.
