Lawrence A. Cunningham is Professor of Law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School of Yeshiva University in New York City and Director of The Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Center on Corporate Governance at Cardozo, where he has taught since 1992. From 1988-1992,

Lawrence A. Cunningham is Professor of Law at Boston College, and formerly taught at the Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School of Yeshiva University in New York City and served as Director of The Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Center on Corporate Governance at Cardozo. From 1988-1992, he was an Associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore where he practiced corporate and securities law.

Professor Cunningham has written numerous books and dozens of articles on accounting, business, finance, investing, and related policy matters, as well as an internationally-acclaimed collection of Warren Buffett's letters to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders, The Essays of Warren Buffett: Lessons for Corporate America, the widely-used textbook Introductory Accounting and Finance for Lawyers and Outsmarting the Smart Money.

He is a regular contributor to Aspen Law & Business and has also written articles on the professional responsibility of lawyers, the law of contracts, and theories of interpretation. Mr. Cunningham is an editor of the renowned treatise Corbin on Contracts. Professor Cunningham has taught and lectured widely. He has held appointments in the US at The George Washington University, Fordham University and St. John's University and abroad at Central European University (Budapest), Hebrew University (Jerusalem) and Oxford University.

His other speaking engagements have included talks at the Universities of Cincinnati and Iowa and Cornell University; lectures to investor groups in London, New York, Toronto, Washington DC, and throughout the US; and presentations for organizations including Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and the Institute for International Research. Professor Cunningham has served as a consultant to corporate boards of directors, law and accounting firms, and regulatory and standard-setting bodies.

Professor Cunningham has been featured in Forbes and Money and on CNN and The Motley Fool Radio Show. He has been a guest on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer and has appeared on or has been quoted in scores of other broadcast and print media.

Professor Cunningham is a magna cum laude graduate of Cardozo and earned his BA with honors in Economics from the University of Delaware. He was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware and now lives with his wife in New York City.
