Indian-American Business Executive, Former CEO of Starbucks & Former Chief Commercial Officer of PepsiCo

Laxman Narasimhan is the former CEO of Starbucks, who stepped in as interim CEO in October 2022 before officially taking the reins in April 2023. During his tenure, he improved the Starbucks partner experience, drove significant innovation in the supply chain, and enhanced store operations.

Prior to Starbucks, he held the position of CEO at Reckitt and served as the Chief Commercial Officer at PepsiCo. Before joining PepsiCo, he spent nearly two decades at McKinsey, where he focused on the retail, consumer goods, and healthcare industries.

Narasimhan's leadership is characterized by a focus on operational excellence, customer-centric strategies, and sustainability initiatives. Prior to taking over as CEO at Starbucks, he trained as a barista for six months. In addition to his corporate achievements, Narasimhan is respected for his commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Narasimhan has a degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as a trustee of the Brookings Institution and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the UK's Build Back Better Council, and Verizon's board of directors.
