LB Adams

Educator, Actor, Director, Producer & Conversation Catalyst

LB Adams is the Founder & CEO of Practical Dramatics, a soft skills training company changing the way corporate training is handled. By merging theatre-based strategies (i.e. scary fun) to a professional development platform, her company has created a lasting impact on the way small and large companies provide soft skills training to their employees. She’s a native New Yorker who has found a home as a serial entrepreneur in Charleston, South Carolina.

Prior to a stint as a shark-diving scuba instructor (It’s true!), she worked as an executive in both the real estate banking and intellectual property fields as well as in the theatre and performing arts arenas centering on acting, directing and producing. Her company is a genetic creation born out of these focuses that provides interactive human connection to every event.

She is a passionate believer in the power of conversation and speaks frequently to civic organizations and corporations on the topic of growing profitable conversations. LB also speaks with heart on the topics of women’s equality & empowerment. She recently gave her first TED Talk entitled “The Power of Words Out Loud.” She serves on the boards of several women-centric non-profits and volunteers with Charleston-area school districts to bring her company's brand of soft skills training to high school & college-age students. She writes a cheeky bi-weekly blog on Practical Dramatics’ website and she regularly contributes content to a variety of print and digital media outlets, including her most recent feature in Skirt Charleston’s 25th anniversary issue. She is currently writing a book on soft skills in the digital age and is happily married with one daughter.
