Le'Andria Johnson

Grammy Award-Winning Recording Artist; Two-Time Stellar Gospel Music Award-Winner; Billboard Magazine's No. 1 Female Gospel Albums Artist of 2012

Le'Andria Johnson, a gospel singer and winner of the third season of the BET gospel singing competition show "Sunday Best," has made a significant impact in the gospel music industry. Her coronation song, "I Shall Leap into My Destiny," made a remarkable debut in the Billboard Gospel chart, marking its position at number 1. Her groundbreaking debut album, "The Awakening of Le'Andria Johnson," similarly entered at No. 1 on multiple music charts, including both the Billboard Top Gospel Albums and the Top Christian/Gospel Albums charts. While the album remained in the Top 10 for over 20 weeks, it held the No. 1 position on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart for seven weeks.

In 2011, Johnson received her first Grammy Award for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance for her debut single, "Jesus." She continued to release acclaimed music through albums such as "The Evolution of Le'Andria Johnson," "Christmas Best," and "Le'Andria Johnson The Experience," all of which secured top positions in the Billboard charts. Johnson's ability to connect with her audience through her music resulted in her winning multiple awards, including Best Female Gospel Artist at the Digital Gospel Music Awards in 2011, Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance at the Grammy Awards in 2012, Best New Artist and Best Contemporary Female Vocalist at the Stellar Awards in 2013, and the Female Artist of the Year at the Steeple Awards in 2016.

Johnson's album, "Le'Andria Johnson The Experience," debuted in the Top 5 and has remained in the Top 10 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart since its release in September 2012. In the same year, Johnson was nominated for three Stellar Gospel Music Awards and won two for New Artist of the Year, and Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year. Additionally, she received her first NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Gospel Album (Traditional or Contemporary).

In Billboard magazine's year-end issue, Johnson was named the overall No. 3 for Gospel Albums Artists of 2012. Moreover, three of her albums charted in the Top 50, including her debut project, "The Awakening of Le'Andria Johnson" at No. 8, "The Evolution of Le'Andria Johnson" at No. 18, and "Le'Andria Johnson The Experience at No. 49."

Born in Palatka, Florida, Johnson began her singing career at a young age in her father's church. Prior to her stint on "Sunday Best," she was a performer, producer, and singer-songwriter. In June 2013, she founded Imperfect People Changing (IPC) Ministries in Atlanta, where she currently serves as pastor. In addition to her music and pastoral work, Johnson also established iProgress, an outreach initiative that gives back to those less fortunate in Atlanta. Johnson has consistently used her platform to inspire and uplift others through her unique and non-traditional techniques of ministering and pastoring, as evidenced by her appearances on the reality show "Preachers of Atlanta."
