Medical Director, Municipal and Regional Affairs, Child Health Advocacy Institute; Director, DC Mental Health Access in Pediatrics; and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Goldberg Center for Community Pediatric Health, Children's National Health System

Lee Ann Savio Beers, MD, is the Medical Director for Municipal and Regional Affairs within Children’s National Health System’s Child Health Advocacy Institute and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Goldberg Center for Community Pediatric Health. She directs the DC Collaborative for Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care, a public-private coalition that serves as a catalyst to elevate the standard of mental health care for every young person in the city by increasing provider capacity and achieving systemic policy change, and the DC Mental Health Access in Pediatrics program, a model Child Psychiatry Access Program. She is the co-director of the Early Childhood Innovation Network, a transformative partnership between Children’s National and Georgetown.

Beers was formerly the Director of the Healthy Generations Program, a multi-disciplinary program for adolescent parents and their children at Children’s National. She was previously a general pediatrician at the Naval Hospital in Guantanamo Bay (Cuba) and the National Naval Medical Center. Beers also has held numerous leadership positions in the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is a past president of the DC chapter. She earned her Medical Degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va.
