Bestselling Author, Leadership Trainer & Danish Adventurer; 35th Woman to Summit Everest

Lene Gammelgaard is a Danish mountaineer and adventurer. She was the 35th woman and first Scandinavian female to summit Everest in May 1996. For more than a decade Lene Gammelgaard has worked in 15 countries with managers and leaders to develop their potential. Lene Gammelgaard knows adversity and strives to study the latest research mapping the human brain to constantly adapt her work with leaders and organizations to stimulate maximum capabilities in any given situation. Lene Gammelgaard has hands-on experience with vision creation, organizational strategy and concept development and implementation. Her first encounter with the huge powers that drive a person from within transpired when she with 18. She had finished college and had decided to go to the Caribbean. She made her way around the islands working as a deck-hand and chose to cross the Atlantic-- something she had eventually set out to do. This quest changed her life. Fundamentally she discovered that it was possible to transform aspirations, dreams and visions into reality. When she was 22 years old she lost one of her brothers in a tragic accident, which propelled her into a rough confrontation with some of the unfairness of existence. Formulating the quest ," Get busy living or get busy dying.

Lene Gammelgaard holds a degree in Law from University of Copenhagen and degrees in Journalism and Psychotherapy. Her book, "Climbing High," discloses some of the dynamics that lead to the triumph and tragedy while summiting Everest May 10 1996. The book became a global breakthrough. Lene Gammelgaard has since published three books. Her success has since been followed by 17 years of successful inspiration and mobilization of others.
