Former CEO of Dow Jones & Company, Publisher of Wall Street Journal & Executive with Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation

Les Hinton is a British-American journalist and business executive whose career with Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation spanned more than fifty years.

Hinton started out as a copy boy at the Adelaide News, ultimately spending decades as Rupert Murdoch's most trusted lieutenant, running his global media empire. He worked in newspapers, magazines, and television as a reporter, editor, and executive in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He was appointed CEO of Dow Jones & Company in December 2007, after its acquisition by News Corp., and retired in 2011.

His memoir, The Bootle Boy, was released in 2018.
