Founder & General Partner at Humain Ventures; Co-Founder of 23andMe and Precise.ly

Linda Avey is a founding general partner at Humain Ventures, a venture capital firm investing at the intersection of AI and the bioeconomy.

Avey has been at the forefront of the digital health movement. She is the visionary founder of 23andMe, which assembled a research repository of genetic and phenotypic data to study human disease. The company now houses the largest research database of recontactable participants. As co-founder of Precisely, Inc., she focused on methods to automate clinical protocols in order to improve outcomes and lower costs, in line with value-based care objectives.

Prior to starting 23andMe, Avey developed translational research collaborations with academic and pharmaceutical partners for Affymetrix and Perlegen Sciences. She also spent time at Spotfire helping scientists understand the power of data visualization, and at Applied Biosystems during the early days of the human genome project.

Avey is a member of the Board of Fellows at Stanford Medical Center, and is an advisor to Colossal Biosciences. She was the founding independent board director at Rock Health, a leading digital health-focused fund, and previously served on the advisory board of Verily, Alphabet’s life science subsidiary.

Avey graduated from Augustana College with a B.A. in biology.
