Linda Stone is a generalist. She studies trends and their strategic and consumer implications. Previously, she worked in a variety of executive positions, including marketing, research, and senior management at both Apple and Microsoft. Stone was a pioneer in the area of multimedia in the 1980s and a pioneer in social media in the early 1990s. More recently, she has been writing and speaking about continuous partial attention, e-mail apnea, and conscious computing. She considers how our relationship with technology can evolve to support cognition and regulation of attention and emotion. Today, Stone writes for The Huffington Post, Radar, Oreilly.com, and her own website, Lindastone.net. She also speaks, consults, and serves on many advisory boards.
