Linus Karlsson is the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at IKEA, overseeing Range and Marketing & Communications. He leads innovative projects like SILVERSIDA, a sustainable tableware series made from ceramic waste. Karlsson also spearheads collaborations with design partners like Raw Color, bringing unique collections to IKEA stores. His latest creation, the DAJLIEN collection, revolutionizes home workout equipment by combining functionality and aesthetics. Karlsson's approach emphasizes democratic design and sustainability, reflecting IKEA's commitment to creating affordable, high-quality products.
Karlsson has worked previously as a consultant and a guest lecturer at Stockholm University. He left his last agency role as global CCO of Crispin Porter + Bogusky in 2018, having joined the agency a year earlier at the time he sold his own business, Ming Utility and Entertainment Group, to CP+B owner MDC. Before that, Karlsson spent six years at McCann, finishing as Chairman and CCO, preceded by eight years at Mother (now Ikea’s UK agency) and four years at Fallon Minneapolis.
Karlsson was recognized on Forbes' list of the World's Most Influential CMOs in 2024 for his leadership in both marketing and product development at the iconic furniture maker and retailer. Under his direction, IKEA entered new and innovative markets, such as launching a line of at-home gym equipment at Art Basel and opening a virtual IKEA store on Roblox. His focus on sustainability and affordability has also played a key role in shaping IKEA's brand strategy.
