Liora Danan  

Fellow, Program on Crisis, Conflict, and Cooperation (C3)

Liora Danan is a fellow with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where she works on conflict and stabilization issues for the Program on Crisis, Conflict, and Cooperation. Prior to that, she was director of special projects with the Middle East Program at the University of California’s Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation, where she directed substantive aspects of the UC Track II programs on regional security in the Middle East. Danan has previously served as a fellow with the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and led research at CSIS on how the U.S. government can better engage the role of religion in conflict-prone settings. She has worked and conducted field research in the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and South Asia. She graduated from Yale University with an M.A. in international relations and a concentration in U.S. foreign policy and religion. She received her B.A. in political science and policy studies from Rice University.
