Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Travelers Companies

Lisa Caputo currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Travelers Companies, a position she has held since 2011. As EVP of Marketing and Communications, Caputo oversees the company’s marketing, research, and corporate communications efforts.

Prior to Travelers, she held various senior leadership positions from 2000-2011 for Citigroup. At Citigroup, Caputo was the company’s first corporate Chief Marketing Officer and spearheaded the company’s global marketing, public affairs, and community relations as Executive Vice President.

During her tenure at Citigroup, Caputo founded Women & Co., the company’s financial services business for women, serving as Chairman and CEO for a decade. Preceding her tenure at Citigroup, Caputo also held senior communications positions at Walt Disney (1998-99) and the CBS Corporation (1996-98).

She graduated from Brown University in 1986 with degrees in Political Science and French. As a student she played field hockey and lacrosse. In 2011, Caputo was part of an elite group selected for the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award, an honor that annually recognizes distinguished individuals on the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of their collegiate athletic careers.

Caputo found success in the political arena, serving as Deputy Assistant to President Clinton as well as Press Secretary to First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton during the administration’s first term. Prior to working with the Clinton administration, she guided media operations efforts for Al Gore during the 1992 Democratic National Convention and also served as Press Secretary for the 1988 Dukakis-Bentsen campaign.

She was selected by President Obama to the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board in 2010. She also holds a seat on the Board of Directors for Best Buy, Co., Inc.
