“Diverse talent has enabled Time Warner to create attractive content for a broad multicultural audience,” Lisa Quiroz said when she was appointed the company’s first Chief Diversity Officer in 2012.

Quiroz has worked across multiple platforms to ensure that Time Warner’s programming speaks to diverse audiences. Before being named the company’s first Vice President, Corporate Responsibility in 2003, she was the founding Publisher of People en Español and founder and General Manager of Time for Kids.

“I feel a unique mission to give the Latino community a voice, to give it a publication that reflects Latino images, Latino interests, Latino culture,” she told Harvard Alumni Magazine. “To be able to create something special and unique for my own community is a great opportunity.”

A New York City native, Quiroz received both her bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Harvard University. Before joining Time Warner, she worked with the minority recruitment team as a Harvard-Radcliffe Admissions Officer, and she also has been a member of the Harvard Board of Overseers.

Quiroz is vice chair of the board of directors of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and a member of the boards of the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Apollo Theater Foundation.
