The Reigning Canadian Long Drive Champion, Ranked #2 in the World

Lisa "Longball" Vlooswyk

Lisa resides in her birthplace, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Before finding her passion for golf Lisa competed on the Canadian National Trampoline and Tumbling Team, was an internationally certified Tumbling Judge and was a varsity Track and Field athlete for the University of Calgary. Lisa entered the world of Long Drive in 2001 and has since won 8 consecutive National Long Drive Championship titles and is the reigning Canadian Champion, an LDA Tour Champion and is a Nike sponsored athlete. Lisa's top finish at the World Long Drive Championship is 2nd place and she was the first woman to hit it over the length of three and a half NFL Football fields, briefly holding a World Record. Lisa holds the Canadian Women's Long Drive Record at 350 yards, 2 feet, 2 inches.

In addition to hitting the "long ball" Lisa is committed to improving her whole golf game and in 2005 played in her first professional golf event on the Canadian Women's Tour. She continues to play on the Canadian Tour and competed in her first LPGA Monday qualifier this past year. When not teeing in up, Lisa is a Golf and Travel Journalist and writes regularly for Inside Golf Magazine and the Chinook Golfer. Her most memorable assignment was covering the 2008 Men's British Open in England. Lisa's energetic and enthusiastic personality has also lent itself well to her involvement as a Sports Broadcaster for the Canadian Long Drive Series.

Lisa is passionate about children. In addition to being a proud mom of a young son, she is an NCCP Level 2 certified gymnastics coach and started her career off as a school teacher. She taught for 7 years until she had to make the difficult decision to follow her passion of trying to be the best in the World at her sport or continuing her life long ambition to teach. Not wanting to let any opportunity pass her by, Lisa took a leap of faith and pursued her dream of becoming the World Long Drive Champion. Along her journey she has discovered the importance of finding a passion, setting goals and the value of perseverance, even when the odds seem insurmountable.
