Liz Robbins' new book, "Play Button," won the 2010 Cider Press Review Book Award, judged by Patricia Smith. A new chapbook, "Girls Turned Like Dials" won the 2012 YellowJacket Press Prize. Her poems have appeared in Barn Owl Review, Barrow Street, Cimarron Review, Greensboro Review, Harpur Palate, The Journal, Margie, New Ohio Review, Poet Lore, and Puerto del Sol, among others, and are in the current issues of or are forthcoming in Barely South Review, Denver Quarterly, diode, Hayden's Ferry Review, Iron Horse Literary Review, Kenyon Review, New Madrid, New York Quarterly, Notre Dame Review, The Pinch, Rattle, and Tar River Poetry, among others. Poems from her first book, Hope, As the World Is a Scorpion Fish (Backwaters P), were featured on Garrison Keillor's The Writer's Almanac and Verse Daily; other poems have been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and Best New Poets. She's the recipient of an Intellectual Life grant and a Schultz Foundation grant, as well as the First Coast Poetry Award, judged by Robert Bly. In April, 2011, she presented her poetry at a New York Institute of Technology conference in Nanjing, China
