Loi Sessions Goulet is a mixed methods researcher with experience in both academia (PhD in Communication) and Industry (TripAdvisor, Facebook). She currently leads the research team at TripAdvisor, having instituted the function as a team of one.

Goulet's background is in the Sociology of New Media, a subject she has taught courses on at UC Berkeley and Penn taught courses on at UC-Berkeley and the University of Pennsylvania. She has written about the sociology of new media in numerous peer-reviewed articles.
