Loick Peyron

Loïck Peyron is one of the most celebrated sailors in France: the "Last of the Mohicans" as he likes to say not without humour.

He started his first tacking in La Baule bay (France) and when he reached 18, he performed his first Atlantic Ocean cross race: the Mini-transatlantic race 79 alone on a 6.5metre boat. More than forty Atlantic Ocean crossings later and with a phenomenal prize list, Loïck's passion for the sea and ships has been kept intact. Whenever he is behind the helm, he is unmistakably one of the most brilliant French sailors and is always thirsty for new adventures and challenges. Loïck is a passionate person, meticulous, innovative and endowed with an exceptional talent recognised by his peers. He makes it a point of honour to look ceaselessly at the "most" which will make the difference. In May 2008, he won the English Transatlantic race for the third time in a historic performance, this mythical transatlantic race between Plymouth and Boston; and this time in a monohull under Gitana Eighty team. From 2006 to 2009, Loïck was the Manager and Skipper of the Gitana Team and in February 2010 he was the Co-helmsman of the Alinghi catamaran to defend the America Cup 33. Loïck raced, under the colours of the Sultanate of Oman, the 2009-2010 catamarans X40 circuit as helmsman of Masirah Oman Sail, then the D35 circuit in Switzerland as helmsman of Okalys-Corum and finally he won the Barcelona Race with Jean-Pierre Dick in spring 2011 with Virbac-Paprec boat. High-tech, and a hugely talkative manager, Loïck is livened up by a real desire to pass on his knowledge to the "Land Men" when he paces up and down the planet. He is the "Man" of all races: Mini Transat, Route du Rhum (France-Antilles), Quebec St-Malo, Vendée Globe, Europe Tour, the Race, D35 circuit, Clairefontaine Trophies In 2011, Loïck is involved in two new challenges: The Jules Verne Trophy on the largest catamaran of the world: 'Banque Populaire V' with the aim of winning the around the world non-stop race with a crew. As well as the 34th America's Cup that will happen in San Francisco in 2013 with his brother Bruno Peyron and the project 'Energy Team'. Loïck has an outstanding prize list: ·43 crossings of the Atlantic Ocean among which 18 races in solo·3 World Tours·5 championships ORMA·16 victories in Grand Prix·3 victories on the solo English Transatlantic race·2 victories on the Transatlantic race Jacques Vabre in 1999 and 2005·2 victories on the Lighthouses Race, 8 victories on the Europe Tour, 7 victories on the Clairefontaine Trophies, 2 victories on the Golden Bowl.
