Co-Host World Series of Poker, Play-by-Play; Commentator for PBA Tour Bowling

ESPN’s “voice of poker”, Lon McEachern, co-hosts all of ESPN’s poker telecasts — most notably the very popular World Series of Poker and World Series of Poker Europe — with analyst Norman Chad. Previously, McEachern was co-host of the Tournament of Champions and the U.S. Poker Championships on ESPN. The 2012-13 season marks McEachern’s first ESPN’s PBA Tour commentator, pairing with PBA Hall of Famer Randy Pedersen. He also lent his talent to a variety of ESPN shows since 1994, including the X Games, World Cup Skiing, billiards and K-1 Kickboxing.

Previously, McEachern hosted the first network TV MMA series, Strikeforce on NBC in 2009, and called a variety of sporting events such as inline skating, martial arts, and the Tour de France for both Fox Sports and the Outdoor Life Network. He worked as a sports anchor for both San Francisco’s CBS affiliate KPIX (1993) and ABC affiliate KGO-TV (1990-1992). From 1983-1989, McEachern produced sports features for GGP Sports (1988-1989) and served as sports director for KCOY-TV in Santa Maria, Calif. (1983-88).

McEachern graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in communications. He received a Golden Mic Award for his radio work in Southern California.
