Lord Philip Gould  

Vice-Chairman Freud Communications

Philip Gould was strategic and polling advisor to Prime Minister Tony Blair from 1994 until 2007. He is credited with playing a key role in the modernization of the Labour Party and the creation of New Labour.

Gould also worked on the election of President Bill Clinton in Little Rock in 1992; Chancellor Gerhard Schröder in 1998; and of Prime Minister Ehud Barak in 1999.

Philip Gould founded his own advertizing agency in 1981 and his own polling and strategy Company in 1985. Since 2008 he has been Deputy Chairman of Freud Communications.

Gould is a visiting Professor in Media and Communications at the London School of Economics where he teaches a course on modern political campaigning. He is the author of The Unfinished Revolution, described as “one of the most important political books to have appeared for many years”. He also writes regularly on issues around communications and corporate and political strategy.

In 2006 he was made a life peer.
