Creator & Executive Producer of "Saturday Night Live"

Lorne Michaels is an award-winning producer and writer, best known as the creator and executive producer of “Saturday Night Live.” Michaels is also executive producer of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on NBC, IFC’s “Documentary Now!” and the Peabody Award-winning “Portlandia,” NBC’s “A.P. Bio,” Comedy Central’s “The Other Two” and Hulu’s “Shrill.” Michaels’ motion picture credits include “Baby Mama,” Wayne’s World,” “Three Amigos” and “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.” Michaels also produced both the critically acclaimed film “Mean Girls” as well as the Tony Award-nominated musical currently on Broadway. Michaels has personally won 16 Emmy Awards and has been recognized with a Presidential Medal of Freedom, an individual Peabody Award and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. He is a member the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame and was twice included in Time magazine’s “Time 100” — a list of the most influential people in the world.
