Los 5

Independent band, formed out of LA, by way of Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil

Together, as an independent band formed by bicultural musicians - Juan Pablo, Matt, Ismael, Hector & Tomas are inspired to project a positive influence on everyone in the World through their music.

Lead Singer Juan Pablo Casillas (23) born in Aguascalientes, Mexico moved to the United States with his Parents and 4 Siblings in Aurora, Colorado at 13 years old. After high school and 1 semester of college in San Diego, JP found himself in Los Angeles (roommates with his older brother & filmmaker Andy) as an aspiring artist and singer while he had already been posting clips on YouTube. Juan Pablo enrolled at the Hollywood campus of Musician's Institute where he met Ismael Cano, Jr. The 2 began to collaborate with the concept of making great music while adding harmony to the world.

Rapper Matt Rey (24) with Parents and younger Sister moved from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Aurora, Colorado when Matt was just 8 years old. During their high school years - Matt and JP would run around in similar crowds from rival high schools when one day by chance they bumped into each other in Hollywood. Matt had moved to LA to begin an acting career enrolling at Stella Adler Academy of Acting. Neither had known that one another had made the move to follow a dream and ultimately become the LOS 5 front men when JP asked Matt to join his musical project.

Lead Guitarist Ismael Cano, Jr (24) raised in Querétaro, Mexico moved to Los Angeles, California with his Parents and older Brother when he was 18 years old. Ismael is an astute musician who is an accomplished concerto & symphonic percussionist from his studies at Crystal Cathedral Performing Arts High School, Fullerton College & Musician's Institute in Hollywood. Ismael and JP began to work on songs together as a solo project for Juan Pablo and prior to the actual idea of becoming LOS 5 in which Ismael sings all background vocals.

Bass Guitarist Hector Rodriguez (19) born in Monterrey, Mexico moved to Los Angeles, California with his Parents and 2 Siblings when he was 15 years old. He is a recent Graduate of Burbank High School and is 1st Cousins with LOS 5 Guitarist Ismael Cano, Jr. as their Latina Mother's are Sisters. Already a talented guitar player, Hector was asked to play bass when the group decided to become a "band".

That same day, Talent Executive Terry Anzaldo met the band after performing a showcase at the Loews Hotel in Hollywood. The band had billed itself as The Wavelength. TA was very impressed with the "5 of Them" and immediately became their Manager. Soon after – the band officially became known as LOS 5.

Drummer Tomas Slemenson (24) born in Sao Paulo, Brazil moved to Hollywood, California as a Student at Musicians Institute at 19 years old. (His Parents and 2 Sisters all reside in Brazil, while his brother lives in Santa Barbara.) He has studied all styles of drums and percussion and had been extremely active playing in recording sessions and live performances prior to replacing original drummer Luis Gustavo in LOS 5. Tomas shared an acquaintance and musical respect with Juan Pablo, Ismael & Luis when they all attended Musician's Institute at the same time making him a perfect & eventual addition to LOS 5.
