Lou Manfredini is an American television/radio personality, home improvement expert and successful businessman. The Chicago-area native is host of the nationally syndicated television show HouseSmarts, Chicago's WGN (AM) Radio's Mr. Fix-It program, and is a contributor on NBC's "Today Show" and The Weather Channel’s "Wake Up With Al." Lou also owns and operates two neighborhood hardware stores and runs a successful real estate management company.

Over the years Lou has built and renovated over 100 homes, has owned and owns multiple business ventures and has a unique approach to walking the road to success. Lou’s expertise and determination mixed with pure, simple kindness have inspired fans nationwide - helping countless home and business owners break through, discovering their own untapped talents and infinite potential.

As a teen, Lou went to work at a local hardware store learning about housing structures, the tools of the construction trade and how to maintain and improve homes.

While attending Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, Lou worked his way through school remodeling homes, before launching his own construction company in Chicago.

In 1995, after writing letters to pitch his idea for a call-in home improvement radio show on WGN Radio, Lou joined the station with his own Saturday morning call-in radio show, which still airs today. In 2000, he became the home improvement contributor for NBC-TV’s "Today Show." In 2006 his home improvement and lifestyle show "HouseSmarts" was born, which Lou currently executive produces and hosts. Lou has also authored 5 best-selling books on how to improve and maintain your home.

Lou Manfredini is a nationally recognized do-it-yourself (DIY) expert, who is sought after both for his expertise and his energetic, entertaining style. In an extension of his ongoing effort to help people maximize the value and enjoyment of their homes, he has merged into a motivational speaker for various companies and events on topics ranging from home improvement and maintenance to small business ownership and what it takes to succeed.
