Luca Della Casa was born in Torino, Italy, and now resides in San Antonio Texas. An adventurous, rugged outdoorsman with a passion for food, Della Casa has been in the food industry for more than 20 years, working his way up from dishwasher to prep cook to line cook to executive chef. He learned to cook with his family and is determined to bring people together around a table to share food, Italian style.

Recently Della Casa brought his love for Italian cooking to the Food Network audiences on season 10 of "The Next Food Network Star." Della Casa fought his way back onto the show after being kicked off early in the season's run by winning an online competition series. He returned with improved on-air skills subsequently making it to the final three.
