Lucy McBath

Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia's 7th District; Advocate for Gun Control

Lucy McBath represents Georgia's 7th district in the US House of Representatives, where she seeks bipartisan solutions for issues such as gun safety and health care.

Having spent 30 years working as a flight attendant with Delta Airlines, McBath became a gun safety advocate after a devastating family tragedy in 2012. She was the national spokesperson and faith and outreach leader for Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, but after the 2018 mass shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, she decided to run for Congress — and she won.

Since taking office in January 2019, McBath has sought bipartisan solutions to end gun violence, uplift small businesses and the economy, serve US veterans and lower the cost of healthcare and prescription drugs. She has been instrumental in passing so-called “red flag” laws and helped procure funding to study gun violence as a public health epidemic.
