Lucienne Papon
Lucienne works as a development executive for director Martin Campbell at Sony Pictures where his company, Martin Campbell Productions, has a first-look deal.
Lucienne has an MFA from UCLA's Producers Program in the School of Theater, Film and Television. While at UCLA, she was a semi-finalist in the annual Producers Program Marketplace Competition in 2004 for pitching a family action adventure called Legend Has It and in 2005 for pitching Husky. In Fall 2004, she produced a half-hour news documentary for the acclaimed show UCLA: Next called L.A. Dreams, which followed three diverse communities in Los Angeles as they tried to hold onto their culture and identity in the ever-changing city landscape.
In June 2005, Lucienne won The Producers Guild of America Debra Hill Fellowship, granted to an up-and-coming producer and graduate from a university producers program, named in honor of the great Producer Debra Hill. UCLA nominated Lucienne for the award for which she competed against students from USC, AFI, NYU, and Columbia University. The award provided a grant to support the continued development of her projects. Lucienne works as a development executive for director Martin Campbell at Sony Pictures where his company, Martin Campbell Productions, has a first-look deal.
Lucienne has worked with Martin for four years, beginning as his assistant on Beyond Borders starring Angelina Jolie and Clive Owen, financed by Mandalay Pictures and distributed by Paramount. For that film, she traveled to Quebec, Namibia and Thailand for seven months. Upon returning to Los Angeles, she assisted Campbell with the pilot for 10-8, a show for Spelling Television and ABC, which was picked up and aired in the 03/04 season for 15 episodes before cancellation. Campbell's next project was the sequel to The Mask of Zorro with Columbia Pictures and Dreamworks. The Legend of Zorro was shot in Mexico in the fall of 2004 and is set for a October 28, 2005 release.
The company has several projects in development at various studios, and is casting and developing Casino Royale, the 21st film in the James Bond franchise, set to shoot in January 2006 for a November 2006 release.
Prior to Martin Campbell Productions, Lucienne worked at Intralink Film and Graphic Design as a copywriter and assistant to the Senior VP of Creative Affairs, David Stern. She contributed to marketing campaigns for such films as Charlie's Angels, The Grinch, Band of Brothers, and the HBO original series The Sopranos and Sex and the City.
Originally from Princeton, New Jersey, Lucienne was a Morehead Scholar and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At UNC, Lucienne was a double major in Political Science and Communication Studies, as well as a captain of the varsity rowing team for three years. Lucienne was responsible for founding the Varsity program, petitioning the University Athletic Department to elevate the team to varsity status based on Title IX imbalance on the campus in 1996. In her first year at varsity level, Lucienne's boat won a bronze medal at the NCAA Championships and she received the Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete Award. The varsity women's rowing program now supports 45 athletes a year and routinely carries the top team GPA on campus. For her contributions to the Carolina campus, Lucienne was named one of the Top 50 Leaders of all time in the Carolina Alumni Review Magazine in 1999.
