Lucy anchors GMT on BBC World News, bringing audiences coverage of breaking news and events from across the globe and interviews with opinion leaders and influencers. She has covered many major news events from the Asian tsunami to the Gaza conflict and ebola crisis. Over the years Lucy has interviewed many high profile figures including HRH Prince Charles, Pervez Musharraf (former President of Pakistan) and Queen Rania of Jordan.

Lucy Hockings has been a presenter on BBC World News since 2003 covering events such as the Asian tsunami in 2004, the global financial crisis in 2008 and the revolutions currently sweeping across the Middle East. Lucy is regularly face on BBC World News and on flagship programmes ?Impact? and ?The Hub?. She joined BBC World News as a producer in 1999, before being promoted to senior producer in 2000 and was involved in the reporting of major world events such as the September 11 attacks and the Afghan and Iraq wars.

Lucy is also a professional moderator and has worked with both commercial companies and NGOs helping shape dynamic conferences and events. She has worked with youth across Europe on leadership and future planning and is a key figure in the European BBC public speaking awards. Prior to working at the BBC, Lucy was a producer and reporter in her native New Zealand and freelanced in South-East Asia.

She has a degree in journalism from Auckland University.
