Head Coach of the Sacramento Kings

Luke Walton was a successful basketball player and current head coach for the Sacramento Kings. Walton won two NBA titles as a player with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010. He spent nine of his 11 seasons in Los Angeles before finishing his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Walton was a pivotal role player alongside Lakers’ stars Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. He had great success at the University of Arizona, being named a two-time All-Pac 10 first-team choice twice. Walton was an assistant coach under Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors. Immediately following his playing career, he served as an assistant for the Lakers D-League affiliate. Walton spent three seasons as the Lakers head coach before being named to the same position with the Kings in 2019. Early in his basketball life, he was well known due to his Hall of Fame father, Bill. They are the first father-son duo to win multiple NBA championships. Walton shares his father’s passion for the legendary American rock band, the Grateful Dead.
