Luther Nicholson, known by his stage name Lute, is an American rapper from Charlotte, North Carolina. He is signed to fellow North Carolinian J Cole's Dreamville Records. His first mixtape, West1996, was released in 2012. He released his debut album, West1996 pt. 2, in 2017. Lute has toured with J Cole and EarthGang. Lute is a former member of Forever FC, a Charlotte hip-hop collective that is no longer together.
