Anchor WCBS Newsradio 880

Lynda Lopez joined WCBS Newsradio 880 in October of 2010. She is an Emmy-award winning news anchor and reporter, who has also worked for CBS-TV's Channel 2 News in New York, where she was weekend anchor and features reporter. Prior to joining 880, Lynda anchored for the Fox 5 and My9 news stations in New York.

Lopez began her broadcasting career in radio at WBAB-FM and WLIR-FM on Long Island, NY. She followed that by working as both assistant program director and music director at Party-105 in Garden City. She made her television debut as a correspondent for VH-1, working on such shows as "The Daily One," and "Women First." She is also a former columnist for "Latina" Magazine, and current contributor to "Glamour" and "Glam Belleza Latina" Magazine.

A New York resident and native of the Bronx, Lopez graduated from C. W. Post University with a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting and Communications. Throughout her broadcasting career, she has given her time to several charitable endeavors, including serving as Mistress of Ceremonies for the 100 Hispanic Women organization's gala, and for the Orphaned Starfish Foundation's annual fundraising galas. Lopez also co-founded The Lopez Family Foundation with her sister, Jennifer, a charitable organization dedicated to the health and well-being of children, and participated in the U.N. Foundation's first Global Mom Relay and Mom+Social.
