U.S. Head of Independent Label Relations at Amazon; Founder & CEO of Heads Music

Madeline is a music executive, producer, entrepreneur, and women’s rights advocate. She is the Head of U.S. Independent Label Relations at Amazon Music; additionally, Nelson is also the founder of Heads Music, a boutique music management, and co-founder with Wyclef Jean of music licensing company, SodoMoodLab.

Heads Music is distinguished by its all-female leadership and staff, embodying Nelson’s commitment to amplifying women's voices in the music industry. She also serves as a mentor in the Next Gen Femme mentorship program under the Femme It Forward umbrella and was honored with an invitation to headline the American Association of Independent Music’s annual Indie Week event as their Keynote Speaker.

Nelson's impact on entertainment and music culture spans over three decades, where she has played pivotal roles as a producer, executive, artist manager, and trusted advisor. Her journey includes managing Grammy Award-winning R&B supergroup Blackstreet in the 1990s, collaborating in A&R with Michael Jackson, and serving as Senior Vice President of Artist and Label Relations at Sony Music. Her leadership role at Amazon Music reflects her ongoing evolution within the industry.

In addition to her work at Amazon Music, Nelson serves as a consultant to the “Wyclef and TIAA: Music for a New Legacy” campaign, which aims to raise awareness among America’s youth -- in particular, African American youth -- on the importance of investing into a financially secure future. She also serves as a board member at A2IM, the leading trade association for the independent music community, and as an advisory board member at Triller, a social media platform for music and video creation.
