Mr. Bhaskaran is a leading Asian economist based in Singapore with over 30 years of experience following economic, political and security issues in the Asia Pacific region. He co-ordinates the Asian business of Washington DC-based strategic advisory firm, Centennial Group, directing its Asian economic research practice which provides in-depth analysis of macro trends in Asia. He works extensively with investment institutions, government agencies and corporations.

Mr. Bhaskaran undertakes in-depth research into the economic, political and business environment in Asia, regularly presenting his findings at in-house management briefings or business conferences throughout the year. His research has covered a wide range of subjects including: economic outlooks for the region and specific countries; Asian political risk assessments; the impact of China on the rest of Asia; India and China's long term political outlook; debt trends and consumer finance issues in Asia; Asian economic and financial integration; analysis of economic resilience in Asia; portfolio capital flows in emerging markets, amongst many others.

Mr. Bhaskaran is a regular columnist for the The Edge (Singapore) and contributes to other publications as well. In addition, he is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) which is part of the National University of Singapore, Vice-President of the Economics Society of Singapore, and Council Member of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA). Mr. Bhaskaran serves on the boards of IFS Capital and Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) Pte Ltd as well as on the board of advisors of CIMB Securities International, a leading Asian investment bank. He is a member of the Advisory Group of the Asia and Pacific Department, International Monetary Fund, Board of Advisors for the School of Economics at the Singapore Management University, and a Trustee of the Asia Foundation in Asia.
