Marcus Kleveland
Norwegian Professional Snowboarder; First to Complete a Quad Cork 1800 in Competition
A regular winner in Slopestyle and Big Air events, Norway's Marcus Klevelend was the first ever snowboarder to complete a quad cork 1800 in competition.
Kleveland is almost as good at freestyle skiing as he is on a snowboard. He was already doing Double Corks at the age of 11, setting the bar with the first Triple Cork when he was 13 – and is now a rider with a successful future firmly in his hands.
His most famous moment to date took place on a purpose-built kicker in Vierli, Norway. Kleveland familiarized himself with the landing before finally pulling off the elusive trick. On landing the Triple Cork, he joined the likes of Torstein Horgmo, Mark McMorris and a handful of others who’ve stomped the Triple. Since then he’s pulled a Backside Quad Cork 1800° at the Stubai Zoo Prime Park Sessions, a pre-season gathering on Austria’s Stubai Glacier to become the youngest member of an exclusive club with only Billy Morgan and Max Parrot as other members.
On his Winter X Games debut in January 2017 Kleveland won gold in Slopestyle and silver in Big Air, where he landed the first-ever Quad Cork in competition. He followed that in February with third place at Air + Style LA to take home the overall Air + Style tour title.
In 2021 he claimed another X Games gold with victory in the Big Air competition and just a few months later added to his trophy haul with first place in the Slopestyle event at the World Championships in Aspen, USA. He then rounded off the season with victory in Silvaplana, Switzerland to secure the Slopestyle World Cup title and the overall Park and Pipe crown.
Kleveland’s home mountain is Dombås in Norway and when the snow melts, Kleveland doesn’t stop – he enjoys skating, MotoX, trampolining and biking, as well as squeezing in a bit of surfing when he can.
