Film & Television Actor; Social Activist & Animal Welfare Advocate

Mariana Tosca starred in Christmas in the Clouds opposite Graham Greene, M. Emmet Walsh and Wes Studi. Her other film and television credits include: Masters of Sex, Parenthood, I Knew a Girl Named Hollywood, War, The Rites of Spring, So I Married an Axe Murderer, John Carpenter's Village of the Damned and The Doors.

Tosca co-produced and starred in Equine Destiny, an award winning documentary about the mounting issues facing America's horses. With the support of writer/director Paul Haggis and aviation legend Clay Lacy, Tosca is currently producing Journey to Royal, a documentary which tells the extraordinary true story of WWII pilot Royal A. Stratton and the 4th Emergency Rescue Squadron who, without the protection of any armament, flew over the seas of an embattled South Pacific, directly into enemy territories on 862 rescue missions to save the lives of 576 men.

For decades, Tosca has been at the forefront of social advocacy and founded the Los Angeles Homeless Coalition, which offered shelter, relief and skills training to the homeless population there. She sits on the Board of TheTenDollarClub.org, a non-profit organization which funds poverty alleviation projects around the world. To date, they have undertaken over 100 projects in 70 countries, providing life-changing services for thousands of people in underdeveloped nations.

She proudly serves with Dr. Jane Goodall on the Advisory Council of Save the Chimps, the world's largest chimpanzee sanctuary which is home to hundreds of chimpanzees retired from the NASA space program, bio-medical research and the entertainment & pet trades. She also serves on the Advisory Boards of Rex & Friends Charitable Foundation, which provides music education and music therapy to people who are blind and/or autistic, ElephantVoices, a non-profit dedicated to the protection of elephants through conservation, advocacy, research and education, Born Free USA, a leading wildlife conservation group which campaigns to end the suffering of wild animals in captivity and to protect wildlife in their natural habitats, and DreamCatcher Wild Horse & Burro Sanctuary, which takes in previously rounded up and/or adopted wild horses and returns them to their natural wild state within a herd environment.

Tosca studied Acting at the American Conservatory Theatre and has served on the Board of Directors of the Alliance Repertory Company and Theatre East and is a member of Mensa International.
