Renaissance woman Mariel Hemingway is not only an iconic Academy Award-nominated actor from a celebrated family, but also a prolific author, adventurist, eco-activist, healthy lifestyle and mental health advocate, yoga video star, a food brand entrepreneur, and a much sought after keynote speaker focused on mind-body-spirit optimization and purposeful living.

Hemingway began acting at age 14 with a Golden Globe–nominated breakout role in Lipstick, and received Academy and BAFTA Award nominations for her performance in Woody Allen's Manhattan. She is also known for her leading roles in Personal Best and Star 80, as well as in the TV series Civil Wars, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.

Amid mental health struggles, Hemingway's career dwindled in the 1990s. She has starred in and co-produced videos about yoga and holistic living. She has published three memoirs: Finding My Balance, about her personal yoga and meditation practices, Mariel Hemingway's Healthy Living from the Inside Out, a how-to guide to finding a greater sense of balance, joy, and meaning through self-empowering techniques and Out Came the Sun about overcoming mental illness in her family.

Her 2009 healthy lifestyle cookbook entitled, Mariel's Kitchen focused on creative and delicious gluten and sugar-free offerings. It was one of the first on the scene to shine the national spotlight on the benefit. Hemingway is also the founder of Mariel's Kitchen, producer of gluten and sugar-free confection, Blisscuits.

In 2013, Hemingway and her life partner, eco-enthusiast Bobby Williams, authored, Running With Nature. In this book, they share their insights about the import and impact of good nutrition, meditation, movement, silence, the beauty of simple living, connectedness to self and earth, and an awareness of simple timeless anti-aging modalities based on self-sustaining self-healing focused choices. Hemingway and Williams lecture at conferences, conventions, and on academic panels nationally, where those of like mind and heart gather to educate, engage, entertain, and to enrich each other's experiences.

In 2013, a documentary about Mariel and the Hemingway family entitled, Running From Crazy was produced by Oprah Winfrey and premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The film focused on Mariel's boundless advocacy for mental health awareness.
