Mariela Dabbah
Founder, CEO of Red Shoe Movement
Mariela is the CEO of the Red Shoe Movement (RSM) a leadership development company powered by a global community of women and men allies who support each other for career success. Its mission is to accelerate the representation of women at the highest levels of decision-making.
Mariela comes from years of working in the education space in the U.S. She wrote several books to help immigrant parents understand how the American system works. She was the spokesperson of McDonald’s scholarships for Latino students and toured the country presenting workshops to families.
From the beginning of her publishing career, Mariela became a frequent face in the media as a trusted and approachable expert on issues related to education, job search and career success.
In 2012 when her book “Find your Inner Red Shoes” (Penguin) came out, she founded The Red Shoe Movement to help companies engage and promote women to the next level of their careers. The company is also known for the impact of their iconic communication initiative: #RedShoeTuesday, an invitation for everyone to wear red shoes and ties to work on Tuesdays to support women’s career growth. The initiative pushes for a global leap of consciousness.
A renowned international speaker known for her ability to connect with the most diverse audiences, Mariela’s clients include MetLife, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Novartis, MetLife, Colgate-Palmolive and others. She presents and hosts events regularly at professional and industry conferences and associations such as The College Board, The Conference Board, Vital Voices, National Society of Hispanic MBAs, Hispanic Retail 360, and at universities such as Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Princeton, among many others.
Mariela’s best-selling, award-wining books include Find Your Inner Red Shoes, The Latino Advantage in the Workplace, Latinos in College: Your Guide to Success, and many others. In 2018 she won the “Visionary of the Year Award” by Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In 2015 she’s on Time Inc.’s People en Español magazine “25 Most Powerful Women” list.
