A pleasure for the senses - trends and innovation in food and drink

A pleasure for the senses. That would be a good way to describe Marielle Bordewijk’s presentations on trends and innovation in food and drink. With the use of enticing images she takes you along on a high-speed trip to the future of our food and drink. Marielle kindles the imagination, which she brings to life with examples from Amsterdam to Tokyo, from the corner shop to Michelin star restaurants. With her creative vision she manages to convey an explosion of inspiration to many with regard to tastes, ingredients, eating rituals, design, technologies, packaging, presentation, food branding, retail, and catering. She also often speaks about ‘creative thinking’ in food and reveals secrets of how to achieve successful innovations. In her workshops, she succinctly introduces participants to her unique and innovative way of thinking.

Marielle studied Industrial Design engineering at the University of Technology (TU) in Delft, the Netherlands, and then worked as food marketing specialist at Unilever. Since 2002 she has been an independent food designer, combining her marketing experience with the design skills in a totally unique way. As a director of design studio FooDoo fooddesign and innovation she inspires and advises small and big companies on food innovation like Sara Lee/DE, Unilever, CFS, Albron Catering, Smit & Dorlas, BakeFive, Shell retail and the artisanal goat cheese ‘Stroese Dame’.
