Marilyn Minter is an artist who juxtaposes photorealistic paintings with painterly photographs and videos, honing in on the moment where clarity becomes abstraction and beauty meets the grotesque. She currently shows her work at Salon 94 in New York City and Regen Projects in Los Angeles. Minter has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions, including at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Center for Contemporary Art in Cincinnati, Les Rencontres d’Arles Festival (France), La Conservera Centro de Arte Contemporáneo (Ceutí/Murcia, Spain), Cleveland’s Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg, Germany.
