Speaking on Lupus Awareness, Military Brats and The Craft of Writing

Marilyn Celeste Morris was born in her grandfather's house in Toronto, Texas in a Southern Pacific RR section house. The settlement was abandoned soon afterward, leaving her with no "permanent" home. If that didn't make her homeless, being the child of an army officer father during the WWII and Cold War eras certainly did. By the age of fourteen, she was a world traveler, having lived in Seoul, Korea and Linz, Austria, with several stateside locations in between.
She has written a book dealing with her experiences and those of other military brats, titled, Once a Brat, Always a Brat. She is a member of Overseas Brats and frequently attends regional meetings. Finding former classmates and others who have "served" as Military Brats is one of her passions.
The other is as a member of the Lupus Foundation of America, as she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in 1988 and is a Media Representative for this organization. Marilyn is a mother of three grown children and grandmother to five.
True to her Military Brat heritage, her suitcase is always packed.
