Marina Tabassum is a distinguished architect hailing from Bangladesh and is the principal architect of Marina Tabassum Architects. Her architectural designs have been recognized internationally, most notably with the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2016 for her design of the Bait-ur-Rouf Mosque in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This achievement followed the completion of the mosque's construction in 2012, a project that solidified her reputation within the architectural world. Additionally, Tabassum authored the memoir "Marina Tabassum: Architecture, My Journey."

In 2020, Prospect acknowledged Tabassum's innovative thinking, listing her as the third-greatest thinker of the COVID-19 era. This recognition, coupled with her being the first South Asian to receive the Lisbon Triennale Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022, illustrates her influence in the architectural field and beyond.
