As executive vice president, chief brand and marketing officer, Marisa Thalberg is responsible for leading our marketing organization and innovating new ways to inspire and engage customers. She also oversees Lowe’s corporate communications, community relations, and events planning and execution. Thalberg joined Lowe’s in 2020.

A globally recognized business strategist and brand-building innovator, Thalberg is known for inspiring teams to take brands to new heights of consumer resonance, cultural relevance and business performance. She joins Lowe’s from Taco Bell, where she served as global chief brand officer, envisioning and leading the company's evolution to a culture-centric lifestyle brand. During Thalberg's tenure, Taco Bell achieved record sales growth, the highest passion index among fans of any brand in the restaurant industry and was the second-fastest growing brand in the nation, following only Netflix. Prior to Taco Bell, Thalberg served as the head of corporate digital and integrated marketing worldwide for The Estée Lauder Companies and held various senior leadership roles at Unilever Cosmetics International, Sure Fit Inc., and Revlon. She started her career at advertising agencies Saatchi & Saatchi and J. Walter Thompson.

Within her first year at the company, Lowe’s was recognized as the No. 3 marketed brand of the year by Ad Age, and Thalberg was named Executive of the Year by Industry Dive. In 2021, Thalberg was recognized by New York Women in Communications as a Matrix honoree, an award celebrating the communications industry’s most outstanding female leaders. She was named one of the World’s 50 most Influential CMOs by Forbes in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021, as well as one of the top 25 most Innovative CMOs by Business Insider in 2021. Among her many other honors, Thalberg has been named a Power Player by the National Retail Federation and an Adweek Brand Genius. She also founded Executive Moms, an organization for working mothers.

Thalberg has served on the boards of the International Women’s Media Foundation and TheaterworksUSA, and is currently serving on the board of directors of the Ad Council and the Orange County School of the Arts Foundation. She earned a bachelor’s degree in American civilization from Brown University, graduating phi beta kappa and magna cum laude.
