Charlottesville Survivor; Protester against White Nationalism

Marissa Blair is a Virginia native and resident of Charlottesville. On August 12, 2017, Marissa was peacefully protesting the Unite the Right “rally” when James Alex Fields, Jr. drove his car into the crowd of protesters, killing Marissa’s friend and co-worker, Heather Heyer. Marissa’s fiancé, Marcus, pushed Marissa out of the way of Fields’ car before being hit himself. Marissa earned a Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and a J.D. from Charlotte School of Law. She works as a paralegal at the Miller Law Group.
