Mark Dodgson        

Innovation Thought Leader, Author & Corporate Advisor

Mark Dodgson is Professor of Innovation Studies at the University of Queensland Business School, Brisbane, and Visiting Professor at Imperial College Business School, London. He has been Director of the Think, Play, Do Group, non-executive director of Nestlé Australia and a member of the Advisory Board of Thiess Pty Ltd. He has advised numerous companies and governments throughout Europe, Asia and North and South America and has researched and taught innovation in over 50 countries.

After working for 8 years at the Science Policy Research Unit at Sussex University he was appointed Foundation Professor of Management at the Australian National University (1993-2002) where he was Executive Director of the National Graduate School of Management, a school he co-founded.

He has produced 16 books and over 100 academic articles and book chapters on innovation. He is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. His latest books are The Oxford Handbook of Innovation Management, The Management of Technological Innovation and Innovation: A Very Short Introduction

His current research encompasses the changing innovation process, playful work, the future of universities and the management of large innovative projects.

Dodgson's Ph.D. on innovation in small firms is from Imperial College London and his MA in Industrial Relations from Warwick University and a BSc in Society and Technology from Middlesex Polytechnic.
