Mark Venaglia has invested over three decades as a humanist, cultural activist, green-initiative innovator, and visual artist. He merges intensive realism with abstract design in a hybrid 21st Century method, Post-Abstract Representationalism. Venaglia paintings and murals are contained in corporate and civic collections plus museums and private collections throughout the world. He utilizes fine art and PerCent for Art mural ventures in addition to museum tours, gallery exhibitions, lectures, and workshops to facilitate the accessibility of art and authentic green concepts.
Since 1983, Mr. Venaglia has received numerous environmental grants, corporate sponsorships, and prestigious fellowships. His work as a green artist makes him particularly attractive to developers and real estate companies due to the possibility of his work qualifying for LEED credit. He is currently Artist-in-Residence for The Multiple Sclerosis Center of Louisville, Kentucky and has held residencies across the United States.
Mr. Venaglia’s fine art represents the U.S. at international art shows in Germany, Korea, France, Japan, Costa Rica, and Armenia. His experience has led to commercial and private commission partnership opportunities with corporate entities such as The New York Public Library, The Miami City Ballet, Sony Pictures International, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, multiple hotels, and mixed-use developments. However, he also has experience collaborating with government agencies in the fulfilment of Public Art plus the development of municipal Master PerCent for Art plans. His expansive knowledge of architecture allows him to create work that augments the developer’s vision while completing budgetary requirement(s).
Reopening his Manhattan studio in 2010, developers and Wall Street moguls are collecting his new work and significantly influencing his career trajectory. Whilst re-establishing a primary east-coast client base, he has been busy hosting tours of New York City arts and culture to notable corporations: The Boston Consulting Group, Walt Disney Imagineering, The Junior League of Los Angeles, and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. He has also conducted lectures regarding Public Art and its effect on brand management within the real estate world. His ability to produce work off-site has accommodated these consulting and lecture opportunities while he produces work for sites across the country. His current major assignment is a mural diptych commission for a noted Hollywood producer for the first new motion picture campus in LA in over 80 years.
There is great breadth to Mr. Venaglia’s portfolio and resume. Client collaboration is a vital resource to provide an immersive and educational experience. His leisure time is spent constantly learning about cultural history, new fine art techniques, and networking with diverse groups essential to the human element reflected in his work.
